Delbert "Lloyd" Huyett

Delbert “Lloyd” Huyett, 83, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at his home.

He was born March 6, 1939, in Richland, Kansas, the son of Delbert Ellis and Lula Mae (Barbee) Huyett. Lloyd graduated from Berryton High School in 1957, and then attended college at Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada.

Lloyd was the owner of Huyett Printing, he served Topeka and surrounding communities for 59 years.

He previously served on the Topeka Rescue Mission Board and was a member of Topeka Bible Church, where he served on the Missions Committee, previously served as song leader, and sang in the choir.

His love for Southern Gospel Music would take him to various gospel music events in the Midwest throughout his “retirement” years.

Among his many talents, Lloyd was a handy man and could fix almost anything.

He married, Alice Marie Swank, on February 9, 1962, in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Debra Huyett of Leonardville, Kansas; son, Nathanial Huyett of Topeka, Kansas; brother, Martin Huyett and wife Sharon, of Burlington, Wisconsin, sisters, Jeanette Sheppard and husband Charles of Georgia, Joyce Harris and husband Timothy of Topeka, Kansas; sister-in-law, Cheryl Huyett of Washington; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Huyett.

The family will receive friends from 9:30am to 10:30am, Monday, August 29th at the Topeka Bible Church, with the funeral service at 10:30am. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Berryton, Kansas.
