David Benjamin Walker

David Walker, 84, of Tecumseh, passed away at his home on March 30, 2023.

He was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on July 1, 1938 the son of Charles and Ethel (Murphy) Walker.  He was a 1956 graduate of Norristown High School.  He served in the United States Air Force for six years.

David retired after 35 years of service with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he was a Mechanic.  He was also a member of the Rubber Workers Union Local #307. 

David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and tinkering in the garage or fixing things.  He also liked old cars and hot rod cars. 

He married Judy Kennedy in Berryton, Kansas on August 1, 1959.  She survives.  He is also survived by his children, Cindy Haynes and husband Tony, Michelle Atkinson and husband Greg, David Walker and wife Michele, and Daniel Walker and wife Shelley, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers Charles Walker and William Walker and two sisters Betty Jean Johnson and Peg Carter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild Kelsey Haynes and two great grandchildren Kelsey Collins and Blakely Walker. 

David will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday, April 2nd, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. where his family will receive friends.  Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery in Berryton, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to assist the Christian Neighbor Center whose mission is to help the homeless population, and may be sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
