Charles Debacker

Charles D. (Charlie) Debacker, 69, died May 2, 2025, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, after an illness that he suffered from most of his adult life.

Charlie was born on April 23, 1956, the sixth child of Albert H. Sr. and Elizabeth Sommers (Betty) Debacker, both of whom are deceased.

Charlie graduated from Assumption Grade School in 1970 and Hayden Catholic High School in 1974. He was a lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church.

He worked at Express Card and Label and Brennan Mathena Funeral Home.

Charlie is survived by his sister, Kathleen Debacker Rohr (Gerald); brothers, Jerry Debacker (Wendy), and Daniel Debacker (Carol); many nieces, nephews, and their children (grands and great grands) also survive.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Albert Jr. (Carol), James (Paula), Kevin (Janine); and his nephew, Gerald (Jerry) Rohr, Jr. (Patti).

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, Friday, May 16, at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. Inurnment will immediately follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
