Charles D. Bryant

Charles Darrell “Chuck” Bryant, 83, of Topeka, passed away on January 27, 2021 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

He was born on September 3, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Joseph D. Bryant and Myrtle S. Bryant.

Chuck was a Storekeeper, aka a Logistics Specialist, in the U.S. Navy, serving his country from 1955 to 1958. The time he spent in the South Pacific was one of the  highlights of his life. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from William Jewell University.  He was an Insurance Underwriter for several insurance companies during his insurance career.

He had a thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader.  He also enjoyed old movies, 40’s music, and airplanes.  His love of planes prompted him to learn to fly and complete his solo flight, but he never got his pilot's license preferring to further his college education. 

Chuck is survived by his children; Christie Chance (John) of Topeka, Paul Bryant (Sue) of Oakland Park, Florida, Karen Maudlin (Dave) of Hill City, South Dakota, three grandchildren, Sydni, Dalton and Camryn, and a brother, Mike Bryant (Sue) of Kansas City, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Nancy Marie and Linda Marie Bryant.

Cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at a later date.  His ashes will be buried next to his beloved Mother.
