Cathryne "Cathy" A. Schreiber

Cathryne "Cathy" A. Schreiber, age 71, of rural Overbrook, KS, passed away with her family by her side on Monday, November 28, 2022.

Cathy was born the daughter of Gerald Wayne and Helen Mae (Zeller) Shoemaker on March 6, 1951, in Rogers, Arkansas. She married Jerry M. Schreiber on July 26, 1969, at Assumption Catholic Church. Together, they celebrated over 53 years of marriage.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In her early years, Cathy played fastpitch softball and played the catcher position. Her and Jerry loved to go camping, boating, and taking trips out to Colorado. Her favorite hobby was scrapbooking. Although Cathy’s health had declined the past few years, Jerry was able to be the best caregiver and husband to Cathy. They would stay up late sharing stories, talking about life and spending time together. It brings comfort to know that Cathy is not struggling anymore and is in the care of our Lord and Savior.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Jerry M. Schreiber; grandson, Dakota M. Schreiber; and a brother, Phil Shoemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son, Darren M. Schreiber; and a brother, Mickey Shoemaker.

She will lie in state on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 P.M., with a rosary at 5:30 P.M., at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, December 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.

Memorial contributions can be made in Cathy's loving memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
