Topeka

Bobby R. Fehring, age 94, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025.

He was born on November 9, 1931, in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Henry and Velma (West) Fehring. Bobby was deeply proud of his country and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he devoted himself to providing for his family through a lifetime of hard work and dedication.

A man of many talents and strong work ethic, Bobby held several careers throughout his life. He worked as a supervisor at the Ford Plant in Claycomo, owned and maintained rental properties, and was employed with U-Haul. His favorite role, however, was owning and operating Mr. Donut alongside his wife, with locations in Topeka and Leavenworth.

On April 1, 1983, Bobby married his beloved sweetheart and best friend, Carolyn S. Yordy. Together, they shared 42 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and commitment. Bobby carried his attention to detail and strong work ethic into everything he did, including his hobbies and interests. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, tending to his yard, managing his properties, and had a keen eye for a good deal, often spending time at estate sales and auctions. In his quieter moments, he found comfort watching Westerns and, most of all, spending time with his family.

Though Bobby could present a tough exterior and was sometimes known for being stubborn, those closest to him knew a man with a deeply caring heart. He was resilient, strong, and faced life’s challenges without complaint, always making the best of whatever came his way. While he believed in hard work and high standards, he was gentle, generous, and especially tender with his family and friends.

Family was the center of Bobby’s life. He will be deeply missed, but his loved ones will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and kindness he shared so freely with those around him.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Carolyn Fehring; son, Ron Fehring; two daughters, Cathi Buckley, and Harriet Taylor. Other survivors include his 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Randy Fehring and Cary Stephens; as well as one daughter, Janet Taylor.

Private family services were held, and Bobby was laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
