Benny Haid

Benny Haid, age 66, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Midland Hospice House.

He was born the son of the late Alvin Earl and Roxie Louise (Storm) Haid on July 23, 1959, in Topeka.

From a young age, Benny’s life was shaped by his love of sports and his strong sense of dedication. Football and baseball were among his greatest passions, and he proudly participated in athletics while attending Topeka West High School, graduating in 1977. His love for the game never faded, as he remained a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, KU Jayhawks, KC Royals, Boston Red Sox, and Nascar throughout his life.

Just as loyal as he was to his teams, Benny was deeply committed to his work. Shortly after high school, he began his career at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, where his hard work, dependability, and dedication spanned more than 30 years. He retired as a Thermoscrew Operator, earning the respect of those around him through his unwavering loyalty and strong work ethic. In his younger years, Benny also found joy in the outdoors, especially while camping and fishing.

Survivors include his son, Brett Haid and his wife, Ashley; daughter, Ashley Haid and her significant other, Mark Loader; as well as three beloved grandchildren, Makenna Loader, Harrison & Graham Haid. Other survivors include his two sisters, Tamra Wolf and her husband David, Tina Guffy and her husband Ken; as well as the mother of his children, Pam Ketter.

Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 A.M., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Topeka Cemetery.
