Barbara Bufford

Barbara Bufford, 71, of Meriden, Kansas, passed away March 7, 2019 at her, home surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on March 1, 1948 in McPherson, Kansas. Daughter of Glenn and Berniece Anderson Messenger.

Barbara graduated from Roxbury High School then went on to Clarkes Business School. She met Bobby Bufford, where they married on April 27, 1968 in Roxbury, Kansas. Together they had two children. Barbara worked in the architectural department in the clerical field for Southwestern Bell for 30 years. She was a member of Meriden United Methodist Church. She loved arts and crafts, enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, but most importantly she treasured her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life.

Barbara is preceded in death by both of her parents, brother, Keith Messenger and a grandchild, Taylor Robinson.

She is survived by her husband Bobby of 50 years; two daughters, Kelli (Shawn) Robinson and Kimberly (James) Garrett, both of Topeka; Grandchildren, Stephany (Shane) Semple, Tyler (Taylor) Robinson, Rylee Robinson, Anthony Robinson, Courtney Garrett, Jordan Garrett, Hunter Garrett, Grace Garrett, and Addison Garrett, all of Topeka; seven great grandchildren; and her sister, Carolyn (Howard) Johnson of Topeka.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Brennan Mathena Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Monday, March 11, 2019 at Brennan Mathena Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
