Anthony B. “Tony” Clark, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at The University of Kansas Hospital St. Francis Campus in Topeka.
He was born November 5, 1946, in Topeka, to Homer Roscoe Clark and Elizabeth Eileen (Lewis) Clark. Tony attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic School and graduated from Hayden Catholic High School in 1966.
In his younger years Tony enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he loved watching NASCAR, going to the casino, and was very patriotic about his service in the United States Marine Corps.
He served in the Marines from 1965 to 1968 during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged.
Tony was a business owner as a car wholesaler and has been in the automotive business for many years.
He married Carleen Marie (Ouderkirk) on August 23, 1969, in Downs, Kansas. They celebrated 34 years together, before her passing in 2003.
Survivors include his children, Cynthia Ridder (Charles) of Topeka and Chad Anthony Clark-Tokunaga (Marshall) of Honolulu, Hawaii; siblings, John Clark (Barbara) of Belton, Missouri, Tom Clark (Julie) of Shawnee, Kansas, Tim Clark of Topeka, Kansas, Connie Harper (Lonnie) of Ozawkie, Kansas; grandchildren, Valerie Humpage (John) of Topeka, Kansas, Mitchell Ridder (Bailey) of Osage City, Kansas, Chloe Ridder of Overland Park, Kansas, Emmie Ridder of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; great grandchild, Anthony Alexander Ridder of Osage City, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother, Jim Clark.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 9:00am to 10:00am, Monday, September 15, with a rosary prayed at 10:00am, and funeral service at 10:30am. Interment with military honors will be at 1:30pm, at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, and Helping Hands Humane Society, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603.
