Anna Sargent

Anna M. Sargent, age 69, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Plaza West Healthcare & Rehab.

She was born the daughter of Isaac Perez, Sr., and Guadalupe (Vargas) Perez on January 16, 1955, in Topeka, KS. Anna graduated from Topeka High School and worked many years as a Legal Assistant for various entities and primarily Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging.

Anna was a huge and devoted fan of the Denver Broncos and KU Jayhawks. In her downtime, you could find Anna reading various books and tending to her home plants. She will be remembered as a loyal friend and someone who was always willing to help family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her beloved sons, Nick Sargent and his wife Anne; and son, Corey Sargent; her mother, Lupe Perez; three brothers, Rudy Perez and his wife Tawana, Chris Perez and his wife Heidi, and Isaac Perez, Jr. Other survivors include her two closest friends, Pat Vega and Pam Alejos.

She is preceded in death by her father, Isaac Perez, Sr., and brother, Edward Perez.

She will lie in state from 4-8:00 P.M., with a rosary at 5:30 P.M., on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, April 5, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.

Memorial contributions can be made in Anna's memory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
