Robert V. Steffes

Robert V. Steffes, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2007 at St. Francis Health Center. He was 75.

Mr. Steffes was involved in business sales and marketing. At the time of his death, he was employed at Dillard’s. He has lived in Topeka since 1976, coming from Dayton, Ohio.

Bob was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he was instrumental in developing the Pager Prayer Ministry, and a member of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association.

He attended Marquette University , Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Regis University, Denver Colorado.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 13, 1931, the son of Herbert J. Steffes and Ciline Villa Steffes.

He was married to Ellen for fifty-three years. She survives at the home. Other survivors include three sons, Peter Steffes, Topeka; Robert Steffes, Jr., Fort Worth, Texas and Charles Steffes, living on the Island of Hawaii; one daughter, Jane Steffes, Topeka; and one brother, John Steffes, Atlanta, Georgia.

Six grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated Friday morning, January 26, at 11:00 o’clock at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, where a parish rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.

Private inurnment is pending.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Robert V. Steffes Memorial Fund which has been established at Kaw Valley State Bank and Trust, 1110 North Kansas, Topeka 66608. The account will be assigned to a worthy charity at a later date.
