Gregory A. Crossman

August 20, 1950 — February 6, 2007

Gregory A. Crossman, 56, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at St. Francis Health Center.

Mr. Crossman retired from the Lawrence Fire Department after twenty-one years of service.

After retiring from the city of Lawrence, he was a school bus driver for the Shawnee Heights School district for eleven years and a substitute teacher for the Topeka parochial school system. He later was employed as a security guard at Commerce Bank in Topeka.

Gregg was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He had earned an Associate of Arts degree. He was an ardent camper and enjoyed traveling.

Mr. Crossman was born in Glendale, California on August 20, 1950, the son of Clyde Crossman and Marian Noonn Crossman. He was married to Renee B. Deghand in Topeka on February 2, 1991. She survives at the home.

Other survivors include his mother, Marian Crossman of Topeka; one son Bevan Crossman, Topeka; three daughters, Tammy, Amanda and Michelle; two step-daughters, Kimberly Daugherty, Topeka and Jennifer Howell, Rowlett, Texas and one brother, Larry Crossman of Topeka. Eight grandchildren also survive.

Gregory Crossman will lie in repose after 2:00 o’clock Friday, February 9, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 o’clock.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend George Bertels at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
