Mary E. McKee

October 11, 1908 — February 12, 2007

Mrs. McKee was known for having a great number of interests and talents. She was an excellent equestrian and for years had her own horse and stables west of Topeka. She was a trophy winning golfer at Shawnee Country Club where she was a member since 1944, and was also an avid gardener and cook. Her parties for several bridge clubs, music administrators and the Presbyterian choir were very well known and appreciated. At one point, she had accumulated the most hours of any volunteer at St. Francis Hospital. She was also active in several areas of her parish, notably as a founding member and a Eucharistic Minister at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Mrs. McKee was a loving wife to C. J. and mother-in-law to Kathleen Driscoll McKee and Connie Jatczak McKee. She is survived by one son, Michael, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be missed by the many whose lives she so wonderfully enriched.A private wake will take place for family members and guests Friday evening, February 16th. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 17th at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Following services, an internment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery. After that, friends will return and gather in the Church's Fr. O'Connor Social Hall for refreshments. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ms. McKee's name to the Youth Religious Education project at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
