Ernesto Rivera Meza, 42, of Topeka, was killed Friday, March 16, 2007 in a traffic accident in Geary County. Mr. Rivera was a truck driver for Larry Jones Trucking and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He was born in Parral, Chihuanua, Mexico on July 20, 1964, the son of Isibro Rivera and Mercedes Meza. He was married to Martha Leticia Lopez in LaPuente, California on November 22, 2003. She survives at home in Topeka. Also surviving is his father, Isibro Rivera, living in Mexico; four children, sons Ernie and Erick and daughters Marisol and Joana Ventura, all of the home; three brothers, Isibro Rivera, in Mexico and Ramon and Arnoldo Rivera of Topeka and four sisters, Josefina, Lorena, Luz Maria and Soledad Rivera, all of Topeka. Ernesto will be in repose from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Thursday afternoon at 5:00 o’clock. The casket will remain closed. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10:00 o’clock at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will be in Rose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Whittier, CA.
