Jose Manuel Cardona, 20, of Topeka, died Wednesday evening, March 21, 2007, in the emergency room at St. Francis Health Center. Mr. Cardona was employed in the construction industry. He was born in Villandera, Zacatecas, Mexico on May 17, 1987, the son of Salvador Cardona and Rosabal Perez-Hernandez. Survivors include his parents, Salvador Cardona, Sr. and Rosa Cardona both of Topeka; three brothers, Salvador Cardona, Jr., Flor I. Cardona and Apolonio Cardona, all of Topeka and two grandmothers, Rafaela Almaraz Hernandez and Eduardo Hernandez Cabrera, both in Mexico. Jose Cardona will be in repose after 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00 o’clock at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jose Manuel Cardona Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home, 800 West Sixth, Topeka 66603.
