Gilbert Pimentel

Gilbert Pimentel, 66, of Topeka was taken to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26, 2007 at Midland Hospice House where he was surrounded by his family.

Gilbert was born in Topeka on September 1, 1940, the son of Rafael Pimentel and Petra Loya Pimentel.

He was graduated from Hayden High School and lived in Chicago, St. Paul and Kansas City before returning to Topeka.  Mr. Pimentel was a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Churches.

His parents, two brothers, Raul and Ruben and two sisters, Helen Carrizales and Esperenza Guebara preceded him in death.

Survivors include seven sisters, Aurora Delgado, Lydia Borjon, Rita Valdivia, Mary Crump, Grace Gonzales, Delores Ruiz and Susan Watson all of Topeka.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Pimentel will be in repose from 5:00 until *;00 p.m. today at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home wherea parish prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  The casket will remain closed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
