Lowell B. Davis

Lowell B. “Dave” Davis, 81, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at his home.

Mr. Davis was employed in the shipping department at Du Pont for many years before he retired.

He was born July 23, 1926 in Beloit the son of Alonzo Jerome and Idonia L. Lagergren Davis.  Dave served in the United States Army.

Mr. Davis was the owner and manager of thirty six apartments in Topeka.  His hobbies included fixing up old houses and fishing.

He was married to Rose “Ruth” Werth on September 4, 1954 in Lacrosse, Kansas.  She preceded him in death June 21, 2007.

Survivors include; one son Daryl Davis of Nixa, MO, one daughter, Denise Smoot (John) of Topeka, grandson, Dustin Fluke (Laura) of Topeka, granddaughter, Kara Fluke of Topeka, great granddaughters, Gabrielle and Kadyn Fluke of Topeka, step grandchildren, Dora, Kacie and Carol Jean Smoot in Colorado.  Two sisters also survive, Ercelle Speaks of Hunter, Ks. and Erma Morris of Wichita.

The funeral service for Mr. Davis will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Mr. Davis will in state  after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6:00 p.m.
