Jo Ann “Jody” Rogers, 66, of Topeka, died October 20, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital.She was born in Douglasville, Texas on August 20, 1941 the daughter of Leroy and China Catherine (Gardner) Finley. Jody worked in Data Entry for the BNSF Railway Company until her retirement due to poor health. She was a member of the Assumption Church where she was an active participant.Jody will be remembered for her love of painting, reading, doing yard work and working with her roses.She was married to Douglas Rogers who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by a son, Stephen Rogers on January 27, 1996 and a daughter Latisha Rogers on June 9, 2002. Survivors include a son Jerry Rogers and his wife Erin of Ft. Knox, Kentucky; two daughters, Angie Winchester and husband Patrick of Lecompton, Ks. and Charlene Russell-Manis and husband Terry Manis of Topeka, Ks., eleven grandchildren and a sister Josephine Baker also of Topeka.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mater Dei’s Assumption Church on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery where she will be next to her children.Memorial contributions are suggested in her memory to the American Cancer Society, in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth St., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
