Steve Wishteyah

Steve Wishteyah, 69, of Topeka, died Feb. 25, 2009 at a hospital in Overland Park.

He was born in Mayetta, Kansas on May 16, 1939 the son of Francis and Christine Marcella (Mahkuk) Wishteyah.

Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a laborer for Nursery and Greenhouses in the area.

Survivors include:  four children, Steve Wishteyah Jr., Frank Wishteyah, Christine Wishteyah and Roger Wishteyah, one sister, Dorothy Sheppard and a half brother, Patrick Mahkuk.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Francis Jr., Norman, Larry, and Mary Frances Puckkee.

Steve will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m.  Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemtery with military honors by Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW.  Memorials to the Wisteyah Memorial Fund in care of Brennan-Mathena F.H., 800 W. 6th, Topeka, Ks.  66603.
