Robert Juarez, 70, of Topeka, died April 25, 2011 at the Swope Ridge Geriatric Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born in Valley Falls, Kansas on June 7, 1940 the son of Ascension and Benita (Aguilar) Juarez.
Robert worked in construction and enjoyed doing, arts, crafts and pottery making. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He is survived by a son, Reno Juarez Fernandez of California; a brother, Rito Juarez of Topeka, five sisters, Mary Hernandez, Catalina Ortiz and Lucille Noriega all of Topeka, Hope Ramirez and her husband Ignacio of Scottsdale, AZ., and Mary Helen Mosqueda and her husband Pete of Newton, Kansas. Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, Serafina Blanco, Lupe Reyes, Juanita Munoz, Teresa Guerrero, Frank Juarez and Eddie Juarez.
Robert will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday after 2:00 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assn., Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders, March of Dimes, or the Susan G. Komen Foundation and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
