Elsie E. Crouse, 85, of Silver Lake, died October 25, 2011 at her home. She was born in Rose, the daughter of Leroy and Sylvia Jones Wright. Elsie was employed by Silver Lake Bank for several years. She later was employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for over twenty years before she retired. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Elsie was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was married to Dwight E. Crouse on August 5, 1945 in Emporia. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2011. Survivors include: two sons, Marlin Crouse (Penny) of Topeka and Will Crouse (Barbara) of Gilbert, AZ, one daughter Carolyn Brandenburg of Topeka, four brothers, Jim Wright of Fort Worth, TX, Louis Wright of Davenport, IA and Chester Wright of Loveland, CO and Kenneth Wright of Carlisle and three sisters, Dorothy Montague of Garnett, Gayle Engle of LeRoy and Patricia Doolittle of La Harpe. Nine grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren also survive. Elsie will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church.
