Helen Urban

Helen (Zerr) Urban, 100, of Topeka, passed away November 6, 2011 at ManorCare Health Services. She was born in Park, Kansas on April 23, 1911 the daughter of Adam Michael and Josephine (Baumann) Zerr. Helen was a self-employed housekeeper. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society at the church. Helen married Frank J. Urban in Park, Kansas on November 4, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2008. She is survived by a son, Joseph A. "Jay" Urban of Omaha, Nebraska, and a sister, Josephine Tatro of Oswego, Kansas. Helen was preceded in death by seven brothers, Adam (in infancy), George, Peter, Michael, Paul, Martin and Ludwig "Louie", and three sisters, Rosalia, Barbara and Elizabeth. Helen will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where an Altar Society Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Perry, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen?s memory to Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish or the Mt.
