Maria Dolores Tetuan

Maria Dolores "Lola" Tetuan, 73, of Topeka, passed away November 11, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born April 8, 1938 in Topeka the daughter of Guadalupe M. and Guadalupe L. (Lopez) Lira. Lola worked for the General Service Administration before she retired. She was involved with the (A.F.S.) American Field Service Student Exchange program. Lola was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She married Raymond Tetuan in Topeka, Kansas on January 24, 1959. He preceded her in death January 5, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Guadalupe Lira, Jr. and Carol Lira. Survivors include her children, Michael (Tina) Tetuan of Wichita, Michele (Justin) Dro of Kansas City, Mo., Renee (Landon) Trawny of Topeka, A.F.S. daughter Mariñes Dagnoni of Brazil; six grandchildren, Dominic Carreño, Victor Tetuan, Alexandria Tetuan, Chantal Tetuan, Brogan Dro, Kellan Trawny and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings that were with her until the end, Gonzalo and Richard Lira, Maria A. Ortega, Pam Martinez and San Juana Lira. Lola will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Parish Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
