Cecilia Marie Stadler

Cecilia Marie Stadler, 82, formerly of Topeka, KS, died July 5, 2017 in Louisville, KY, surrounded by her family.  Cecilia was born January 2, 1935 in Topeka, the daughter of the late Anna and Peter Burghardt.  Cecilia graduated from Hayden High School with the class of 1954. On July 2, 1954, she was united in marriage to the late William J Stadler.  Cecilia worked at the Youth Center at Topeka for many years. Family and friends, along with her dog Gizmo, were her passion and delight. Cecilia was also an advocate for animal rights.  Cecilia is survived by her daughters, Dalene Stadler of Louisville, KY and Teriann (Giuseppe) Orlando of Philadelphia, PA; and three grandchildren:  Dustin Moomau of Kansas City, Ks, Megan (Brad) Fahey of Louisville, KY and Gianna Cecilia Orlando of Philadelphia, PA.  The Altar Society will pray the rosary at 4:30 PM Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman. Following the rosary the family will greet friends until 7:30 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial, and will be held in the church basement.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Helping Hands Humane Society.
