Marion Maxine Nester

Marion Maxine Nester, 87, of Topeka, died September 9, 2017 at The Legacy of Topeka.

She was born in Clark County, South Dakota on December 12, 1929 the daughter of Charles and Alma (Sam) Noteboom.

Marion was the first female city Bus Driver for Topeka and worked as a Social Worker for the Department of Aging. She had previously managed a senior citizen housing project and served as the mayor in Streeter, North Dakota. 

She will be remembered as a tenacious, determined and self-sufficient woman. Marion enjoyed reading, spending time with family and was an excellent cook.

Marion was married to Dennis Remboldt of Bella Vista, AR, the father of her children, and later to Duane Nester of Streeter, ND.  Both survive her.  She is survived by her children; Jo Remboldt (Mike Flagg) of Lewes, DE, Kathy Karlsson (Lennart) of Sweden, Mike Remboldt (Jan) of Topeka, Jeff Remboldt of San Antonio, TX, Mark Remboldt (Christina) of Topeka, Mary Gage (David) of Lawrence, KS, Tom Remboldt (Kathryn) of League City, TX, Carmen Lewis (Kent) of Ashburn, VA, Dan Remboldt (Karen) of Brush Creek, TN, and Charles Remboldt (Monicka) of Perry, KS, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister, Betty Trautman of Bismarck, ND and brother, Albert Andres of Crystal Springs, ND.

Her family will receive friends at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23rd from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of her Life.
