Richard Robert Mendez
June 11, 1952 — September 15, 2017
He was born June 11, 1952 in Topeka the son of Rafael C. and Jennie (Olivarez) Mendez.
Richard was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He married Debbie Devlin and they later divorced. Richard is survived by two daughters, Chalece (Mark Calen Sindorf) Mendez, Alahnna Mendez, two grandchildren, Raleigh and Ripken Sindorf along with five siblings, Rita Ramirez, Juanita (Roger) Wilson, John (Carol) Mendez, Michael Mendez, Virginia “Gena” Mendez, and his dog, Louee. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rafael D. Mendez.
He will lie in state after 2:00 pm Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
