Mary Ann McConnell

Mary Ann (Schiefelbein) McConnell of Tecumseh, KS, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.  She was born in Topeka on January 24, 1947, the daughter of Joseph and Virginia (Reeb) Schiefelbein.

Mary Ann was a member of St. Joseph/Sacred Heart Parish.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mary Ann graduated from Hayden High School in 1965 and married John (Dan) McConnell on July 3, 1965 at Sacred Heart Church.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Danny Mac, their 3 children Nancy (Greg) Burghart of Tecumseh, Kathleen (Tom Jr.) Johnson, Topeka, and Daniel (Tricia) McConnell, Topeka.  She will be greatly missed by her greatest joys; her 6 grandchildren:  Alex and Jenna Burghart, Blaine and Evan Johnson, and Sean and Tanner McConnell.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka.  Graveside services will immediately follow at Mt.
