Wayne L. Knight

Wayne L. Knight, 86, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 after a long illness.

He was born August 23, 1931, the oldest son of George and Ellen (Lessley) Knight.  Life was difficult growing up in the 30’s.  Wayne moved to Topeka and worked at Meadow Gold Milk Company where he met his wife Mary Horgan.  They were married November 19, 1955.  She preceded him in death. Wayne also worked at Hillers Dairy and later for KDOT.

Survivors include two sons; Robert Knight (Sue) of Osawatomie, and Richard Knight of Topeka.

Wayne will lie in state on Tuesday, after 2 pm at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.  A parish rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
