Rosella Marie Hoffman, 98, of Holton, died April 5, 2018 at Medicalodges of Jackson County.
She was born in St. Marys, Kansas on April 6, 1919, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Violet (Nagels) DeWendt. Rosella was a 1937 graduate of Solomon High School.
She was a member of Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church and over 70 years as a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Philip Billard Post #1650.
She was a homemaker. Rosella married Charles Hoffman in Lawrence, Kansas in 1948. He predeceased her in January of 1984. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Clara McCollough and Teresa Heim.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Kathy) Garrison of Olathe, two daughters, Donna (Melvin) Lum of Abilene, TX and Jeanne (Larry) McLaren of Mayetta, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Rosella will lie in state on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. followed by the family receiving friends until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Parish. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
