Kathleen "Kathy" Schleuder

Kathleen “Kathy” Schleuder, , 68, of Topeka, KS died April 29, 2018 at Stormont-Vail. She was born May 7, 1949 in Topeka the daughter of Robert and Helen (Taylor) Baum. Prior to her retiring, Kathy was a school bus driver for the Auburn-Washburn School District. She married Leslie “Les” Schleuder on July 15, 1978 in Topeka.  He preceded her in death on December 29, 1998.  She is survived by two sons, Ron (Lesley) Boyett, Jeff (Karen) Schleuder, her mother, Helen Baum, four siblings, Robert Baum, Jr., Suzanne Powell, Timothy Baum, and Mark Baum along with eight grandchildren, Ashlie, Chelsie, Morgan, Maya, Jackson, Hudson, Elias, Elizabeth, and two great-grandsons, Jace and Liam. Kathy will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where her family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.  A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Mater Dei Parish Building Fund, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
