Patrick Sean Cavanaugh, 58, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away July 17, 2018 at his home. He was born on November 10, 1959 in Stockton, California. Son of Elvin Raymond Cavanaugh and Rosemary Ann Artzer Cavanaugh.
Patrick graduated from Hayden High School in 1977, then later went on and graduated from Baker University with his Bachelors in Business.
Patrick worked as a para professional for Most Pure Heart Catholic School. He enjoyed working with all the children and getting to be apart of their church lives. He was also a volunteer for the North Topeka YMCA. Patrick loved to work out, travel, and host parties. Patrick was also very family oriented. He loved helping his family and neighbors mow their lawns, rake their leaves, shovel snow off their driveways, and most importantly clean their homes. He was a very organized and was extremely in touch with decorating his home. He knew what looked good where, and how to design décor in homes. His greatest accomplishment was being 29 years sober.
Patrick is preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his sisters Kathy (Kirk) Shea and Kelly Cavanaugh both of Topeka; and brother Michael (Kathryn) Cavanaugh of Lake Oswego, Oregon; Aunt Lorene Artzer Eilert of Topeka; Niece Sandra Jones of Tonganoxie, Kansas; Nephews Stephen Shea of Topeka, Sean (Kasey) Rogers of Topeka, Spencer Shea of Fort Riley, and Austin Rogers of Topeka, and a host of great nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.
Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, July 22 at Brennan Mathean Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 23 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary School for tuition assistance, and sent in the care of Brennan Mathena Funeral Home.
