Vicky J. Moore, 69, of Berryton, KS died Monday, October 1, 2018 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.
She was born November 12, 1948 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Holden) McCorkill.
Vicky graduated from Independence High School, Independence, KS where she spent most of her adolescent life. She was a member of the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church, Tecumseh, where she was active with the United Methodist Women and I Care. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards, games and attending the theater.
Vicky was in the Rating Department at Yellow Freight for over 25 years, then worked several years for the State of Kansas at the Office of Vital Statistics before she retired.
She married Charles Moore on July 16, 1966 in Independence, KS. They later divorced. From that union they had two children, Rhonda Harris and Chad (Kelli) Moore. They all survive. She is also survived by two sisters, Toni (David) Boyles, Denise McCorkill, four grandchildren, Dani Harris, Darin Harris, Breanna (Mason) Tillman and Bryce Moore. Two great-grandchildren, Hadley Harris and Domenic Pannone also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Shirley McCorkill. Vicky will be remembered most for her great love she had for her family, they were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed by all.
A Celebration of Vicky’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Foundry Event Center, 400 SW 33rd Street, Topeka. The family requests that bright colors be worn by all and that Vicky would love to have all the ladies in their best Vicky style hat.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to I Care Topeka, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
